With Lone Ranger in cinemas in a few months time, it appears Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are starting to move their attention back to Pirates Of The Caribbean 5.
Deadline reports that they’ve now narrowed down the list of those they’d like to direct down to Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman), Fredrik Bond (The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman), and the duo of Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (Kon-Tiki).
Fredrik Bond is currently said to be the favourite of Jerry Bruckheimer, although Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning’s names are being mentioned more often, with Rupert Sanders getting plenty of buzz as well. The studio is expected to make a final decision within the next few weeks, so that production can get under way in either late 2013 or early 2014.
Jeff Nathanson was is currently working on the script, having taken over from Terry Rossio. The film is currently due July 10th, 2015 and stars Johnny Depp.
