Adrian Lyne made his name with the likes of Flashdance, Fatal Attraction and Jacob’s Ladder, but he hasn’t made a movie since Unfaithful in 2002. However now he’s heading back to the set as he has signed up to direct the Patricia Highsmith adaptation, Deep Water.
The book is about a young married couple, whose lives are altered when their acquaintances begin turning up dead. While no actors have been attached at this time, Deadline reports that conversations are under way with a ‘big star’ to take one of the lead roles. Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) wrote the screenplay adaptation, with financing the project.
It may not end up as Lyne’s first film back as director, as he’s also attached to the John Grisham adaptation The Associate and a family drama called Back Roads.
