X-Men: Days of Future Past is going to see a major uniting of X-Men, with the First Class cast starring alongside Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Juno Temple, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and more. And now one more mutant from the earlier trilogy can be added to the mix, Nightcrawler, as played by Alan Cumming.
The news comes from James McAvoy in an interview with Heat Radio (picked up by ComicBookMovie), where he says, “Its huge. The cast is huge. Youve got me, [Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender,] Nick Hoult will be back and hes just blossoming massively over there [in the U.S.] as well. Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned – I dont know if thats happening. ‘Huge’ Jackmans coming by. He is huge. Hes massive, hes just like – hes about 75? and like muscle-lier than Satan in the film Legend.”
While it does sound like McAvoy is going by what he’s heard rather than definite facts, the mention of Alan Cumming, who hasn’t been talked about before, does suggest he’s got real on his inclusion in the movie.
The films starts shooting next month, with a time-travelling plot that sees the First Class cast having to prevent a terrible future from occuring that sees mutants rounded up and interned in concentration camps. It’s due out summer 2014.
