Harrison Ford is getting his comedy on, as THR reports that earlier rumours that he was considering making an appearance in Anchorman 2 were true, as he’s now joined Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner in the much-anticipated sequel.
Harrison Ford is set to play a legendary, well-known anchorman in the long-awaited movie (anyone willing to bet he’s supposed to be Ron Burgundy’s dad?). It isn’t known how large his role will be.
The story involves the Action 4 News team heading to New York City, so it’s it’s likely that’s where they meet up with Harrison Ford’s character. The film is set in the late 1970s, with Ron having to deal with changes in TV and the advent of 24-hour news channels. The sequel also stars Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, James Marsden, Dylan Baker, and Meagan Good.
Adam McKay is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Will Ferrell. Filming is kicking off soon in Atlanta.
