Earlier this year it appeared Rupert Sanders’ next movie would be a follow-up to his hit Snow White And The Huntsman, however that was rather thrown into disarray when he was caught having an affair with the movie’s star, Kristen Stewart. Since then he’s signed up to remake Van Helsing and now Deadline reports he’s attached to direct The Juliet for Sony Pictures and New Regency.
The Juliet is based on the Alfred Bester short story that is set in a near-future science fiction landscape, and has been described as ‘Bonnie & Clyde in space’. Henry Bean wrote the adapted screenplay.
New Regency will distribute the movie through its arrangement with 20th Century Fox, with Sony and New Regency splitting the financing costs. The producers are aiming to start shooting as early as this coming spring, which suggest Sanders will either have to leave Van Helsing behind or delay it.
