Anyone who enjoyed the creepy chills of The Woman In Black may be wondering how a sequel would work, but after the $130 million plus success of the movie, it’s little wonder Hammer Films wants a follow-up. They’ve been working on the film ever since Woman In Black was released, working from a story idea by Susan Hill (who wrote the original novel), with Jon Croker handling the screenplay.
Now the movie has found a director, with Tom Harper signing up to helm the movie, which will be called The Woman in Black: Angels of Death. The film will continue the story four decades later. Seized by the government during World War II, the sudden arrival of a group of evacuated children at Eel Marsh House awakens its darkest inhabitant. Although there could possibly be room for some sort of Daniel Radcliffe appearance, it’s looking likely he won’t be involved.
BAFTA-nominated Harper (The Scouting Book for Boys, Misfits) sommented, “I am thrilled to be a part of The Woman in Black:Angel of Death. This will be a great opportunity for me to collaborate with a brilliantly talented team on the next installment in this exciting series.
