Paul Dano is currently seeing success in Looper, and now he’s got another role in a major movie, as he has signed on to star in Prisoners for director Denis Villeneuve, according to Variety.
Hugh Jackman is already set to play a small town carpenter whose life is torn apart when his daughter and her friend are kidnapped. Fed up with the local law enforcement, he takes matters into his own hands and searches for her himself. He clashes with Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal), a big city cop who has been assigned to the case. At the moment not much is known about Paul Dano’s character.
Denis Villeneuve is directing from a Black Listed screenplay by Aaron Guzikowski (Contraband), with shooting set to begin in early 2013.
