It’s rarely a bad thing to cast John Goodman in a movie, as he’s one of the few actors who can run the full gamut from deeply dark drama to full-on comedy. Now he’s in talks for a small but integral role in the upcoming The Hangover Part III, whic is said to be one of the last main roles yet to be cast before production begins later this autumn.
The actor will play an unspecified antagonist, similar to Paul Giamatti’s minor role in The Hangover Part II. Although he’s unlikely to get much screentime, director Todd Phillips has described the role as ‘juicy’, and has been looking for the right person for a while, including considering Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr.
Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis are returning as The Wolf Pack, with Mike Tyson, Ken Jeong, Mike Epps, Heather Graham, and Sasha Barrese reprising their roles from the first two installments.
Todd Phillips is directing from the screenplay he co-wrote with Craig Mazin. (Source: Variety)
