If you grew up in the 1980s, you probably remember ALF, the sitcom about an alien who ends up living with a human family after crashing into their garage. Now THR reports that Sony Pictures Animation has finalised a deal with The Smurfs producer Jordan Kerner to develop a movie version of the series.
The project will be a live-action and CGI hybrid, much like The Smurfs. Jordan Kerner will produce alongside original series creators Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco, who will also return to provide the voice of the title character.
The series ran for 102 episodes over four seasons, between 1986 and 1990. ALF’s name is an acronym for Alien Life Form. No screenwriter or director is attached to the project at this time.
