A couple of months ago it was announced that Journey 2 director Brad Peyton had signed on to a movie called San Andreas: 3D, that is set to give the earthquake a big-budget, three-dimensional outing. Now the film has a new writer, as New Line Cinema has brought on Lost writer/producer Carlton Cuse to handle the script.
The film is set in California after a massive earthquake, and follows a man who must navigate the state to rescue his daughter. The film was originally written by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore, then re-written by Allan Loeb. It’s not clear if Cuse is merely fiddling with the previous script, or if he’s starting over.
Brad Peyton is directing the film for New Line with Beau Flynn producing. (Source: Variety)
