We may have already had the first trailers, but Django Unchained is still shooting, several months after production began. Late last year Jonah Hill signed onto a role in the film, but then backed out due to scheduling issues. However Deadline reports that Hill is back in the movie, although in a different role to the one he was initially going to play.
The actor had been in talks to play slave owner Scotty Harmony, who loses Django’s wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) to plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Now he’s back in another, smaller role, although it’s not known exactly what part he’ll play.
Jamie Foxx stars as Django, a freed slave who teams up with a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to reunite with his wife. Quentin Tarantino is directing from his own original screenplay. It’s due in cinemas at Christmas.
