
Director Lucky McKees harrowing but darkly comic study of the darkness of human nature, The Woman, has polarised opinions since its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. The films journey to the UK has taken in a premiere at FrightFest, where it was one of the most talked about and enthusiastically received films, a UK-wide cinema release and from 17th October 2011, The Woman will be available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray.

In the film, when a successful country lawyer captures and attempts to “civilize” the last remaining member of a violent clan that has roamed the Northeast coast for decades, he puts the lives of his family in jeopardy. Not that the lawyer and his kin are completely innocent either.
