Ron Howard had been planning to spend the next couple of year with his grandiose attempt to turn Stephen King’s The Dark Tower into a series of movies and TV series. However after Universal dropped the project, he’s had to put Dark Tower on the back burner and do other things while he tries to set it back up elsewhere.
He’s already got the F1 drama Rush in the works, and now Variety reports that he’s attached to direct 364, based on a pitch by David Guggenheim, who wrote Safe House, which is out next year starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. The title refers to the days of the years, as it’s about a man who spends 364 days as a normal person, but for one day a year he gets superpowers. It’s an intriguing idea, and it’d be interesting to see how it fits into a full narrative.
It’s not certainly when the movie might go into production, but it won’t be for a while yet, as he’s got to make Rush first, which starts shooting in the next few months with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl starring.
