Sex addiction is a surprisingly popular subject for movies at the moment, with Shame starring Michael Fassbender doing the round at the festivals and now Thanks For Sharing lining itself up a pretty strong cast. Actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Joely Richardson have now joined the movie, according to Variety, giving a bit of female counterbalance to the already cast Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins.
The story centres around a group of strangers who become friends in a recovery group as they all try to overcome their sex addiction. Gwyneth Paltrow is set to play Phoebe, a businesswoman who falls for Mark Ruffalo, while Joely Richardson will play Tim Robbins’ wife.
The Kids Are All Right screenwriter Stuart Blumberg will make his directorial debut with Thanks for Sharing, working from a screenplay he co-wrote with Matt Winston. Production is scheduled to begin later this month in New York City.
