Ed Helms hasn’t quite managed to capitalise on the success of The Hangover in the same way Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis have, probably because he’s still got to a day job in the form of The Office. However he has managed to squeeze in a couple of other movies, and now Variety reports that Helms has signed on to star in an American remake of the French comedy Le Mac.
The 2010 French movie starred José Garcia as a timid banker who is forced to assume the identity of his long-lost brother, a gangster and pimp known as Le Mac. It sounds like the perfect sort of role for Helms, who’s never better than when he’s playing a fish out of water trying to fit in.
Bad Santa 2 screenwriter Johnny Rosenthal will write the screenplay, although a director is not attached yet. Ben Stiller will produce the remake alongside Stuart Cornfeld and Guy Stodel.
