With a release date less than four months away, you’d have thought the last thing David Fincher would be doing is casting new people to be in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. However that’s what’s happened, as Variety reports that Alan Dale has joined the cast of the drama, even though filming is coming to an end.
Dale, who to many Brits will always be Jim Robinson from Neighbours, has in recent years carved an impressive US TV career for himself, with recurring roles in the likes of NCIS, Lost and The OC, among others. In Dragon Tattoo he will portray a career detective on the verge of retirement. It must be a pretty small role though (and you have to wonder whether someone dropped out or if the character has been added in at the last minute for Dale’s casting to come so late).
Hes joining a cast that includes Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgard, Christopher Plummer and Joely Richardson among many others. The movie hits UK screens on Boxing Day.
