Although Ben Affleck hasn’t started shooting his next directorial effort, Argo, yet, he’s already lining up his follow-up to that film with the unusual action thriller Line of Sight, according to THR.
Ben Affleck will direct, produce, and star in Line of Sight, which follows an elite commando squad charged with transporting dangerous cargo while also dealing with a global threat. What sets this aprt from most movies is that the story, conceived by Alex Heineman, will be told from a first-person point of view, as though it were a shooter-style video game. It’ll be interesting to see whether they can make this work for an entire movie. The script has been redrafted by Peter O’Brien, who wrote Halo: Reach for Xbox 360.
Joel Silver and Andrew Rona are also on as producers and the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It’s not clear when it will start shooting, although it won’t be until Affleck has finished Argo, which will go into production soon.
