Caleb Landry Jones’ role as Sean/Banshee in X-Men: First Class certainly helped his profile, and it seems he’s going to build on that, with Neil Jordan casting him in the lead male role in his vampire drama, Byzantium, according to Variety.
The 22-year-old actor will play a teenager dying from leukemia. His struggle with mortality affects a mother-daughter vampire duo (Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan), which causes the daughter, trapped forever in the body of a teenager, to start questioning her own immortality. As the movie is set in a small British town, let’s hope the Texas born Caleb has been practising his best English accent.
Byzantium is based on a play by Moira Buffini, who also penned the screenplay. It isn’t clear when the movie will start shooting.
