Straight A’s may not be the jolliest sounding movie ever, but the indie effort has certainly pulled together a decent cast. Variety reports that Anna Paquin, Ryan Phillippe and Luke Wilson have all signed on to star in the movie, which has just started shooting.
Phillippe will play a man who has been in and out of rehab for the past 10 years. He is haunted by his dead mother, who urges him to return home to Shreveport. When he finally does go home, he must confront his brother’s wife (Anna Paquin), an ex-lover who still has feelings for him. Luke Wilson is on board to play the brother, while Riley Thomas Stewart has been cast as the son of Ryan Phillippe’s character. I think it’s fair to say there’ll be more than a little family disharmony in this flick.
James Cox (Wonderland) is directing Straight A’s from a screenplay by Dave Cole.
