He may be busy turning Britain into an apocalyptic zombie wasteland at the moment shooting World War Z in Scotland and Cornwall, but Brad Pitt is also looking to future projects, as Variety reports that he’s now in negotiations to star in The Gray Man for director James Gray.
Adam Cozad adapted The Gray Man from Mark Greaney’s novel, which is about a former CIA agent who has become an assassin. He takes on a dangerous mission to rescue his former CIA handler in Europe. The Gray Man is the first book in Mark Greaney’s novel series centring on the title character, Court Gentry, suggesting Pitt could be eyeing this as a potential franchise. The book was praised in many quarters for humanising its killer protagonist, which is probably what got Brad interested.
It’s not the first time Gray and Pitt have tried to work together, as they were supposed to make The Lost City Of Z, but the whole thing fell apart when Paramount and the filmmakers couldn’t come to terms on the budget. It isn’t known when production may start on The Gray Man.
