With Ridley Scott’s sort-of prequel to Alien having been shooting for a couple of months now, you’d have thought it would be too late for new actors to be announced, but The Playlist reports that Patrick Wilson has come aboard the movie.
There had been rumours of Wilson’s involvement for a while, and they’ve now been confirmed, but it isn’t known who Wilson will be playing – indeed, officially not much is known about the plot at all. He’ll join other cast members including Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Idris Elba.
It’s also now believed that Ridley Scott is shooting both an R rated and a PG-13 rated version of the movie, with the decision being made once the film has been put together as to which version to release. We’d imagine Fox will want to go PG-13, but we’ll have to wait and see (and if the toned down version is the one in cinemas, expect the full-blooded edition to make a home ent. appearance).
Prometheus is currently due to hit cinemas June 2012.
