While it’s been reported for a while that Greta Gerwig was set to star in Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond The Pines, it appears she’d never properly signed on and due to other commitments has had to move on. Now Vulture reports that Rose Byrne has stepped in to take her place in the movie.
The film is a multi-generational crime drama, with Ryan Gosling (who’s gone bleach blond for the role) as a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son, but when he crosses paths with Bradley Cooper’s newbie police officer, their confrontation spirals into a generational feud involving their sons. Byrne is coming onboard as the wife of Cooper’s character.
The great cast (barring more shuffles) also includes and Eva Mendes, Ben Mendelsohn, Ray Liotta, Ali Mahershalalhasbaz, Gabe Fazio, Max Martini and Emory Cohen.
