It seems Lionsgate is happy with the progress being made on the adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games, as they’ve announced that a movie based on the second book in the best-selling trilogy, Catching Fire, will be released worldwide November 2013.
There’s no confirmed details on the movie, such as whether director Gary Ross will return (although he’s exepcted to), but the movie will be in cinemas November 22nd, 2012 (and it’s been confirmed that does include the UK), only 20 months after the release of the first movie on March 23rd, 2012. Of course, the second film does rely on the success of the first, but with the hype already building for Hunger Games, which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, there are high hopes the movie will break out in the way Twilight did.
And speaking of Hunger Games, two new images have been released on the movie’s Facebook page, but you can see them above and below.
