After Another Earth screened at the Sundance Film Festival, there was a huge amount of interest in Brit Marling, the young actress who plays the lead role in the movie. In recent weeks she’s been in huge demand, as there have been reports that Steven Soderbergh wants her for male stripper pic Magic Mike, and Christopher McQuarrie would like her to co-star with Tom Cruise in One Shot. While it isn’t known whether she’ll be part of either of those movies, she’s now officially in talks for the third film she’s been rumoured for.
Variety reports that Marling is in line to play the female lead in Robert Redford’s political thriller The Company You Keep, opposite Shia LaBeouf and Nick Nolte. Redford directs and stars as a former militant wanted by the FBI who must go on the run when his true identity is exposed by an ambitious young reporter (LaBeouf). The movie starts shooting next month.
