The first, rather unexciting image from The Darkest Hour was revealed at Comic-Con. Then came some far more intriguing concept art, and positive reports from those who’d seen the trailer at the San Diego event, which suggested this wouldn’t be the sort of alien invasion flick we’re used to. Now the trailer has been released online, and it does make the movie look pretty interesting. For a start, it’s set in Moscow, which gives the film a different look, but it’s more the alien threat that marks this one out, with the world being attacked by amorphous electric blobs that can completely disintegrate people just by touching them. The film follows five young people (including Emile Hirsch, Max Minghella, Olivia Thirlby and Rachael Taylor) who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack.
