Chris Evans has been getting some great notices for Captain America, which has made him more in-demand than ever. Now it appears he’s been offered the lead in Albert Hughes’ upcoming Motor City, according to Twitch, although it isn’t clear how interested he might be in it.
It’d certainly be a interesting film to make though, and while it sounds rather conceptual, it has studio backing from Warner Bros. The film will be based on a 2009 Black List script by Chad St. John, with the most notable thing about it being that it has only one line of dialogue in the entire thing. The plot however is about a crook who is framed and dead set on revenge when he gets out. Obviously he’s not big on talking though.
Apparently while Evans is the first choice, Joel Edgerton and Jeremy Renner are being eyed as other possibilities if Chris passes.
Whether a movie with only a single line of dialogue will be embraces by the mainstream is difficult to tell. It may work, but it’s undoubtedly a bit of a gamble. However many said the same about Ryan Reynolds in a box in Buried when he signed up for that, but that worked out pretty well for all involved.
