With Danny Boyle having to go off and put together the Olympics Opening Ceremony in January, he’s busy putting together Trance so he can start shooting and get the movie wrapped before then (he’ll complete editing after London 2012 is completed, with a release set for March 13th).
He’s been having a few casting issues, with Michael Fassbender coming and going. More recently Colin Firth and Scarlet Johansson were rumoured, but it appears things haven’t worked out with them, and now Deadline reports Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson have come in their place.
James McAvoy will play an auction house assistant who masterminds an art heist and teams up with a gang of thieves, (which seem to be the role Cassel is up for), but suffers a blow to the head and wakes up with amnesia. He is the only one who knows where the stolen painting is and after his continued failure to remember, the gang begins to suspect duplicity on his part and hire a female hypnotist (Dawson) to get into his brain. However it appears the hypnotist has an unusual relationship with both McAvoy and Cassel’s characters.
Shooting starts in September.
