It’s all coming out of Comic-Con today. Fox has been giving an update of Ridley Scott’s is-it-an-alien-prequel-or-not flick Prometheus at the event, which included the first image from the movie (see that above), as well as some tantalising details about the flick. Scott himself showed up by video link to say how much he loved shooting in 3D, saying, “Ill never work without 3D again, even for small dialogue scenes… 3D has been a wonderful exercise but I was brought up as a camera operator so its really about lensing and all that kind of stuff. So with the help Ive had from a wonderful cameraman and his technical team its been, for me, a pretty straight forward ride. That said Ill never work without 3D again, even for small dialogue scenes. I love the whole process. 3D opens up the universe of even a small dialogue scene so Ive been very impressed with that.”
Fans also got to see some early footage, and if you’d like a description of that, there’s a good one over at Wired.
Prometheus wasn’t the only new image to have arrived, as below you can get your first look at Lily Collins as Snow White and a pic of all the Hobbit dwarves assembled.
As you can tell by the giant watermark, EW debuted this image, the first we’ve seen from Tarsem’s currently untitled Snow White film, which features Lily Collins in the title role. We’re just wondering what Disney will have to say about this, as she does look like a Disney Princess and they’re known to be very tetchy if people stray too close to their version of fairy stories. The movie also stars Julia Roberts (as the evil queen) and Armie Hammer (as the Prince), and will hit cinemas March 2012.
After spending the last couple weeks releasing images of the dwarves from The Hobbit in groups of two or three, Peter Jackson has now brought us a composite pic of the entire band of dwarves who will go with Bilbo on his quest into the Misty Mountain to find the dragon Smaug. And in case you’re wondering who they are, from right to left it’s Jed Brophy as Nori, Dean O’Gorman as Fili, Mark Hadlow as Dori, James Nesbitt as Bofur, Peter Hambleton as Gloin, Graham McTavish as Dwalin, Armitage (he’s the man in the middle), Ken Stott as Balin, john Callen as Oin, Stephen Hunter as Bombur, William Kircher as Bifur, Adam Brown as Ori and Aidan Turner as Kili. The first of the movies, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, arrives on December 14th, 2012, with The Hobbit: There and Back Again coming a year later.
