Tim Burton’s going to be jealous as it looks like partner Helena Bonham-Carter is gonna to be spending time with his best mate, Johnny Depp, without him. She’s in talks to join Depp in The Lone Rangey, and according to Variety the cast is really growing as Dwight Yoakam, Barry Pepper and James Badge Dale are also all in negotiations.
Assuming she signs on, Bonham Carter will play a brothel owner, while Dwight Yoakam will be one of the main villains, Butch Cavendish, who’s the leader of the Cavendish gang that the Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) and Tonto (Depp) square off with. James Badge Dale will portray Dan Reid, the leader of the Texas Rangers and older brother to Hammer’s character (it was revealed last week that Ruth Wilson will be Dan’s wife), while Barry Pepper is set for the role of Captain J. Fuller, the leader of the seventh cavalry.
Gore Verbinski is directing Lone Ranger – which he’s said will tell the classic tale from Tonto’s point of view – with shooting scheduled to start sometime this autumn.
