The first poster for Let Me In director Tomas Alfredson’s take on John le Carre’s classic Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has arrived, courtesy of Empire, but you can see it above. It’s pretty cool, although far more digital than we might have expected.
The movie is about retired British intelligence officer George Smiley (who is often described as being a sort of quiet, anti-James Bond figure, here played by Oldman), who is asked to return to his old agency to discover which of his former colleagues is a Russian spy. Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) is on scripting duties, and the cast also includes Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds and Kathy Burke. A September 16th release date is set, but you can watch the teaser trailer here. It’s an incredibly cast and certainly a film to look out for.
