Michael Fassbender is a busy man, but it seems he going to find time to slot in another movie, as he’s signed up for At Swim-Two-Birds. Director/actor Brendan Gleeson acquired the right to the film seven years ago, and has been trying to put it together ever since then. However now he has the funds and so is trying to get the best cast possible together for the tale.
It isn’t known what character Michael Fassbender plays, although he joins a cast which includes Colin Farrell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Cillian Murphy, Gabriel Byrne, and Brendan Gleeson – basically anyone Irish who’s had any Hollywood success and is Irish!
Brendan Gleeson will direct At Swim-Two-Birds from his own screenplay, which is adapted from the 1939 novel by Flann O’Brien. The story follows a teenage writer who fills his short stories with characters based on people in his own life. The movie should finally go into production in spring 2012.
