The cast of the film version of What To Expect When You’re Expecting (and yes, we still can’t believe they’re turning a plot-less pregnancy guidebook into a film, either) is coming together, and the latest additions to the cast are Elizabeth Banks and Rob Huebel, who’ll star alongside Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick. It’s good news for both actors (and the audience), as they certainly deserve more high-profile roles.
The film will follow several women and their partners as they experience pregnancy. Banks’ character is baby-crazy, to the point of being the author of a children’s book about breast feeding and owner of The Breast Choice boutique. However while she is militant in her beliefs about what makes a good mother, she has no children of her own, and things start of change when she gets pregnant for the first time.
Huebel meanwhile will be a member of a motley crew of new dads who congregate in a city park in what is considered part play group, part secret society.
Kirk Jones (Waking Ned Devine, Nanny McPhee) is directing the film, which was acquired from a script by Heather Hach and re-written by Shauna Cross (Whip It!). It’ll start shooting this summer for release May 2012.
