If you’re looking for someone who can go from incredibly stern and authoritarian to warm and vulnerable in seconds, you could do worse than hiring Harry Lennix, which is just what they’ve done for Man Of Steel – although it doesn’t look like he’ll have to use the warm and vulnerable side too much.
According to Variety, he’ll play General Swanwick, a high-ranking military officer. However, no further details are known about the character (knowing this sort of thing, he’ll be getting in the way and making things worse.
Lennix is one of those faces you’ll know, even if you don’t know his name, as he’s appeared in TV shows as diverse as Diagnosis Murder, ER, 24 and Dollhouse, as well as films like Clockers, Collateral Damage, Ray, The Matric sequels and State Of Play.
Shooting on the Zack Snyder directed Superman reboot starts soon, with Henry Cavill in the title role, alongside Kevin Costner And Diane Lane as his earthly parents, Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond as his Kryptonian bio-family, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Michael Shannon as the villainous Zod. It’ll be in cinemas December 2012.
