There’s been a fair amount of interest in the idea of Sylvester Stallone teaming up with The Warriors and 48 Hours director Walter Hill for a new buddy action flick. Based on the graphic nove Bullet To The Head, it was previously known as Heashot but at the moment doesn’t have a title. It was also initially to have co-starred Thomas Jane, but he got bumped and replaced by Fast Five’s Sung Kang (according to the actor, because they wanted a different ethnic mix).
Now Variety reports that Christian Slater, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (best known for TV’s Lost and Oz), and Holt McCallany have all joined the movie.
Stallone is set to play a hitman who must team up with a New York City cop (Kang) to take down a common enemy – a powerful attorney (Akinnuoye-Agbaje) who has covered up a scam to exploit poor neighborhoods in New Orleans. Holt McCallany will be a dirty cop who ends up partnering with Kang’s character, while Christian Slater will play local handler who acts a middleman.
The current plan is to start shooing the movie later this summer.
