If all had gone to plan, Adrianne Palicki would have been busy now preparing for a full series of a TV version of Wonder Woman, with her in the lead role. However the pilot wasn’t that well received by the network and didn’t get picked up, leaving Palicki’s diary suddenly free. Now she’s got a new gig to fill in the time, as Deadline reports she’s joined the cast of G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes.
The actress will portray Lady Jaye, an intelligence officer in the squad. Earlier this week, RZA and D.J. Cotrona joined the cast as Blind Master and Flint, while Ray Park and Lee Byung-hun and expected to reprise their roles from the first movie, as Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.
There is also speculation that Bruce Willis is being considered to play Joe Colton, who was the the original G.I. Joe (Channing Tatum will be back as the newest model, ‘Duke’). Nothing is official yet, as Paramount is weighing other options, but Willis is the front runner for the role.
Jon M. Chu is directing G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes from a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Production is said to start fairly soon, with the studio set to release the sequel next summer.
