We haven’t seen a huge amount of him since the end of Lost, but Matthew Fox may be hitting the big screen in World War Z. Bloody Digusting reports that the actor is in talks for the movie, as well as that Alicia Vikander is in talks to play someone called Segen, while Deadline confirms the Fox news that and adds that Ed Harris may sign up as well.
There’s no news on what role Harris might play, although Fox will apparently be somebody called Parajumper. They’d join the previously cast Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Anthony Mackie and James Badge Dale in the film. The Marc Forster directed film is based on Max Brooks’ novel, which is an oral history set 10 years after the outbreak of a zombie plague, that devastated most of the human population.
Brad Pitt will play a researcher for the UN Postwar Commission, while Mireille Enos will be his wife, a mother of two girls.
Production finally starts later this month, after a long struggle during which Paramount wrestled with stumping up the $125 million budget. The movie was finally saved thanks to a co-financing deal with Skydance Productions. However Paramount should be thankful everything worked out, as with it looking like JJ Abrams will miss a summer 2012 release for Star Trek 2, without World War Z, the studio would have had to rely solely on GI Joe 2 to pull in the punters during the biggest time for movie releases.
