It’s all a bit myserious at the moment, but THR reports that a huge project entitled Myth is brewing over at 20th Century Fox, which has attracted the likes of Avatar heavyweights James Cameron and Sam Worthington, along with Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. It’s all early days yet and no deals have been signed, but Will Staples pitch for the project was enough to attract some big names.
Staples would also write the sci-fi project, although little is known about Myth other than it will be large in scope and action-heavy. While the writer has been working on several movie projects, such as Apaches and World’s Most Wanted, he’s best known for his work in videogames, most notably writing for the Call Of Duty line of shooters.
James Cameron will executive produce, while Sam Worthington and Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce. However it should be noted that Cameron has no intentions to direct Myth, and at the moment Worthington isn’t lined up to star (that could change though, as sometimes actors attach themselves as project early on, only deciding whether to star once the script comes together).
All of the talks are still in early stages, and much could change before the project is given the green light. It’s definitely one to keep an eye on though.
