While it’s a toss-up between Chris Nolan and JJ Abrams as to who is the most secretive mainstream Hollywood director, it’s a good ploy, as it ensures people are always intrigued by what they’re up to. That said, in the case of The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan could have released the entire script and people would still be clamouring for info.
The movie is now shooting, but that doesn’t meet it’s completed casting, as Variety reports Josh Stewart (Law Abiding Citizen, Benjamin Button) has signed on for a role in the film. It isn’t known what part he will play in Christopher Nolan’s superhero sequel, although it’s unlikely to be a big role. Christian Bale reprises his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman return as well. Franchise newcomers include Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Christopher Nolan is directing from a screenplay by David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan.
