Reese Witherspoon may not be quite the powerhouse star she once briefly was, but she’s still a name to conjure in Hollywood, and is now attached to star in and produce a new comedy, called Who Invited Her? Sascha Rothschild came up with the pitch for the movie, which was just bought by Dreamworks, and will no write the script, according to Variety.
The basic conept of the film is based around a woman who ends up tagging along on a guy’s batchelor weekend. That’s all the plot we have so far, but it’s a decent enough premise for some wacky antics. The tone is described as being in the spirit of Bridemaids (although early comparisons to other films are often fatuous, and just based on trying to get execs excited about a new project based on something that’s recently been popular – so expect anything with a female lead to be compared to Bridemaids for the next six months).
There’s no news on when the movie might go into production.
