He may have become a little bit of a paycheque actor in recent years, but Al Pacino has now come up with something potentially interesting, as Variety reports that he in negotiations to star as an aging rocker in Warner Bros.’ Imagine.
Steve Carell was previously set to star as the rocker’s son, but the actor has dropped out recently due to scheduling conflicts. That’s a real shame, as Pacino and Carell as pops and kid could have been a very interesting mix, but sadly it isn’t going to happen. At this stage there’s no info on who will replace The Office star.
The story, written by Dan Fogelman (the film will also mark his feature directorial debut), is about a rocker who decides to change his life after discovering a letter written to him by John Lennon – prompting him to track down his biological son, whom he’s never met.
