He’s had the munchies, escaped from Guantanamo Bay and later this year with be having a Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (as well of course as being Sulu in Star Trek and having a major role in the TV series Flashforward). Now John Cho has got something else up his sleeve, as he’s signed on to appear in the remake of Total Recall.
According to EW, he’ll be McClane, a salesman at Recall who manages to talk Quaid (Colin Farrell) into getting memory implants. The implants go awry, though, and Quaid believes he is a spy, although he isn’t sure for which side. The original Total Recall sees Quaid having memories of the resistance on Mars, although the remake ditches that and will instead be set in the fictional countries of Euromerica and New Shanghai, that are battling for supremacy. There will still be a resistance though, as just yesterday it was revealed Bill Nighy will be playing the leader of that, Quatto.
Cho joins Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Bokeem Woodbine, Ethan Hawke, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and Bill Nighy, in the Len Wiseman directed movie. Shooting begins next week in Toronto.
