Jack Black is rocking the moustache look in the first images from Bernie, which reunites the actor with School Of Rock helmer Richard Linklater. The images come courtesy of the LA Times, as Bernie has been chosen to open the LA Film Fesitval, even if it isn’t the sort of prestige pic you might expect to get that honour (but then, this is LA, where film-as-art is almost a dirty concept).
Based on a true story Linklater started working on the script for a decade ago (and taking a few queues from Harold & Maude), the comedic drama follows a mortician (Black) who falls for a much older lady (Shirley MacLaine). Linklater has described the movie as his Fargo, as it also involves a true crime element. Take a look at the pics above and below.
