While most first pics from a film are released to the media via the publicity department, they did something a little more interesting with The Dark Knight Rises. The official site for the film has launched, which led some enterprising people to a Twitter hastag (which was hidden in an audio file). By tweeting that hastag, #thefirerises, it revealed an image pixel by pixel on the site! It’s certainly an interesting way of doing things and has ended up with our first look at Tom Hardy as Bane. New cast has also been announced for the movie – which is a little surprising as Warner only issued a press release a couple days ago to mark the start of filming, which had no new names – however Variety says Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and 11-year-old Joey King have all signed onto the flick.
There’s little news on the characters they’ll play, other than that Modine will be somebody called Nixon. We’re presuming that’s not the spirit on the dead president. Tha Dark Knight rises is now shooting and will his cinemas July 20th, 2012.
