Ridley Scott sure loves to signing up to direct things, even if his actual output is massively smaller than the amount of things he’s been attached to at one time or another. This time he has signed on to helm a new political drama entitled Reykjvaik, which is far less action packed than we’ve come to expect from Ridley in the past few years.
Kevin Hood is writing this drama, which is based on the 1980s meeting between American President Ronald Reagan and Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev, which lead to the end of the Cold War – and which, as the title suggest, took place in the Icelandic capital.
It isn’t known when Ridley Scott will make time on his schedule for Reykjvaik. He’s currently directing the sci-fi adventure Prometheus, and in March he attached himself to a biopic on Gertrude Bell. There’s also Monopoly, which he been developing for over a year, as well as a few other projects. It isn’t known which of these will be next, and it’s unlikely he’s have time for them all.
