Jim Jarmusch (Dead Man, Broken Flowers) is certain a filmmaker who marches to the beat of his own drummer, so you can bet that if he’s planning something vampire related, it’s not going to be a Twilight clone.
The Ghost Dog helmer is indeed putting some sort of bloodsucker project together, and has been siging up quite a healthy cast to help him, with Tilda Swinton, Michael Fassbender, Mia Wasikowska, and John Hurt all onboard, according to ScreenDaily.
The plot of the movie is being kept under wraps (and knowing Jarmusch, would be too odd and complicated to explain briefly anyway), although the director has said it is a, “crypto-vampire love story,” which will be set in both Detroit and Tangiers. There’s also no info on who any of the actors will play. Here’s what director had to say about this new vampire project, “I’ve been imagining this film for years. I can’t wait to now realize it with these remarkable collaborators.”
Jarmusch will direct from his own original screenplay, with shooting scheduled to start in Germany, Morroco, and Detroit in early 2012.
