Michael Cera seems determined not to follow the usual movie star path, instead finding unusual projects he’s personally interested in. Now it’s been revealed, via The Playlist, that he’ll be leaving behind comedy for his next project, as Cera will star in writer/director Sebastián Silva’s drama Magic, Magic.
The story revolves around a young girl vacationing in Chile who slowly starts to lose her mental faculties. She tries to find help amongst her peers, but they ignore her until its too late. And it sounds like it’ll be in Spanish, as Cera is currently in the midst of intensive language lesson to help him tackle the role.
Mike White will serve as one of the producers on Magic, Magic. A search for the main female character is currently underway.
