A few days ago it was revealed that before he goes full-time organising the opening ceremony of the London Olympics, Danny Boyle is going to shoot a movie called Trances (which appears to be the proper title, although it was being called Trance last week). Now it seems he’s already found his star, with Michael Fassbender signing up for the project.
The THR report also gives a better plot synopsis what we had last week, saying, ‘The pic is remake of a 2003 British movie directed by Joe Ahearne and centers on an art heist. An assistant at an auction house masterminds the heist and teams up with a gang of thieves, but suffers a blow to the head and wakes up with amnesia. He is the only one who knows where the paintings location is and after his continued failure to remember, the gang begins to suspect duplicity on his part and hire a female hypnotist to get into his brain. If a deal is closed, Fassbender would play the shady leader of the gang who partners with the assistant.’
The plan is for Boyle to shoot the film in September, then go to work on the Olympics, waiting to finish post-production on the movie until after the sports spectacular is over, with an early 2013 release being eyed
