After getting a bit supernatural with Twilight and Red Riding Hood, director Catherine Hardwicke is sticking with teens but losing the vampires and werewolves, as Deadline reports she’s attached to direct an adaptation of the Martha O’Connor novel The Bitch Posse.
The book is about three girls who are seniors in high school and come from broken homes. They form an alliance dubbed The Bitch Posse, which follows them into adulthood. The book flashes between their high school days and their adult life, where one is in a mental institution, another is a writer and the other is suffering through a bad marriage.
Tristine Skyler will adapt the screenplay which Catherine Hardwicke will direct from. The helmer sure is obsessed with teens, who’ve been the centre of every movie she’s directed, although The Bitch Poss does seem a return to the edgy likes of Thirteen and Lords Of Dogtown, which can only be a good thing.
