Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger already has a number of projects on his plate, including The Governator cartoon (and possible film), Cry Macho and a new Terminator flick, but now it seems he may be adding one more movie to his slate with a possible sequel to the 1988 comedy Twins.
At the moment it’s only a rumour, but it seems Arnold Schwarzenegger, his Twins co-star Danny DeVito and director Ivan Reitman have all kept in touch over the years. What’s Playing reports they got this word from an insider, ‘A Twins sequel. Knowing Arnold, Danny DeVito and Ivan Reitman are all still in touch and want to work together again, Universal came to them about it. It’s a germ of an idea that could spread fast.’
It is known that Arnie is looking at follow-ups to some of his older movies, and a sequel to Twins has been rumoured ever since the first movie came out in 1988. It would be a bit of a no-brainer for Universal, as it wouldn’t cost too much to make and has good name recognition, but that’s no guarantee Arnie is genuinely interested. The studio is saying nothing, so we’ll have to wait and see whether this actually happens.
