While he’s had a lot of success with the Fast & Furious franchise, Paul Walker’s career elsewhere has been less than stellar, but he’ll be hoping that changes with Vehicle 19, which Variety reporting he’s just signed up for, for writer-director Mukunda Michael Dewil.
Vehicle 19, which landed on 2010’s coveted Black List of the best unproduced screenplays, follows an American conman (Walker) who is in South Africa and must transport a hostage who is set to testify against the corrupt South African police force.
The movie will shoot this August on location in South Africa, with Walker hoping this time people will want to watch him in something that isn’t about being Furious or indeed Fast – although it does appear he’ll still spend plenty of time behind the wheel of a car.
